            Who is John?

From 1952 to 1974, I owned KELLY’S RANCHWEAR & SADDLERY in Wheeling, Illinois.
In 1974, I sold the business and moved to Cortez CO.  That year we got “back into business” and opened the HITCHIN’ POST located on North Broadway, again selling Western Wear and tack. After selling that building, I moved into the Wilson Building on Market Street in downtown Cortez.

I  “retired” in 1990, and got “back in the horse business” by again owning and riding horses after a 40 year absence.  I’ve always loved leatherwork of all kinds, and made much of the tack I sold in our store.

Now that I don’t have the hassle of keeping a store open, I just can’t keep my handsoff my tools, and rolls of leather.  So I’m “back again”, in a small way . . .
Making horse equipment the way I like to use it myself:
Simple, durable and well made of the best leathers.

You can reach me by calling 970 882-7793 (evenings) or 970 799-4475 most days, when I’m not riding.  Best is my email  johnlewiskelly@yahoo.com
                            Many thanks,
                                                        John Kelly
